The turn-key project of the Wuhan Chia Tia Group (CP Group) delivered by Famsun, is up and running in Wuhan, China.

Phase I of the project, which began trial production in April 2015, comprises one extrusion line, two pelleting lines for shrimp and crab feed, two hard pellet fish feed lines, and an extra extrusion line. Production capacity is 150,000 tonnes per year.

The plant has a central WEM4000 batching system which measures consumption of power and steam, records equipment deviation and warns maintenance staff to conduct preventative maintenance.

There are 19 auto samplers on the production lines, which send packed, coded samples to a control room for testing, via conveyor belt. Products with different specifications can be sampled at the same time.

Wuhan is currently developing its aquaculture industry and as the demand for fish, crab and crayfish increases, the market for aquafeed is predicted to reach 1 million tonnes per year.
