LPX (Lemmers Protein Exchange) acquired a former dairy plant in Dronryp, Friesland, in the Netherlands. The state-of-the-art factory was chosen for its advanced technology, ideally suited for processing egg products.
LPX was founded by Joep Lemmers, the third generation of the Lemmers family, which has been active in the egg industry since 1959. From its roots in poultry farming to becoming a leading force in liquid egg products and egg powders, the Lemmers family has consistently driven innovation in the egg sector. The establishment of LPX in 2025 marks the next step in expanding this expertise into new markets.
The acquisition underscores LPX's commitment to producing high-quality, resource-efficient egg ingredients to meet the growing demand in the premium animal feed market.
"We are delighted to give this historic location a new purpose," said Joep Lemmers, director of LPX. "With our expertise and the modern facilities in Dronryp, we are poised to become a leading player in the production of egg ingredients for the pet food and animal feed industries."
LPX will focus on producing a diverse range of egg powders. The product portfolio offers solutions for supporting optimal growth and development in animals (nutritional ingredients); enhancing texture and taste in animal feed (functional ingredients); and promoting immune system health and digestion (health ingredients).
"We believe that eggs provide the ideal foundation for developing innovative and sustainable animal feed products," said Joep Lemmers. By reusing the unique nutritional and functional properties of egg byproducts, LPX creates high-quality egg ingredients that support the health and growth of animals in a resource-conscious, responsible way.
LPX plans to make the Dronryp plant fully operational in the coming months. The company is committed to collaborating closely with the local community and suppliers to ensure efficient, successful operations.
