Martine Boon has been appointed as the new managing director of GMP+ International.
“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to help build on GMP+’s foundation, and work together with the community to ensure safe and sustainable feed, worldwide,” said Boon.
With a background in agricultural economics, Martine joins GMP+ from Rabobank where she has most recently served as director of Food & Agriculture Transition and Sector Management. She brings a wealth of experience in agricultural financing, agrifood-tech startups, and management.
“I have a love for farming and agriculture, ever since my youth in farm country outside Assen in the Netherlands. In my time at Rabobank, I have worked intently on what it means to future-proof the agricultural sector, and I’m hoping to join my experience with the team at GMP+ to support a future-proof animal feed community,” explained Martine. “I’ve been impressed to see how much GMP+ and the community have achieved over the years, and my ambition is to build on what’s been established and explore more opportunities together. I am especially looking forward to developing and expanding our sustainability position, which I see as critical for our industry and the wider world. This is a global challenge, and one that GMP+ with its international presence is uniquely placed to work on.”
“This is something I am committed to doing in partnership, together with our community of certified companies, experts, Certification Bodies, and the GMP+ team. Providing workable and meaningful standards that not only make the industry safe and sustainable but are also valued by the companies that use them is something that can only come from working together”, she concluded.
Outgoing managing director, Roland van der Post, welcomed Martine’s appointment saying, “I am looking forward to welcoming Martine to her new role soon, and from November onwards seeing how GMP+ will continue developing in the future.”
