Global agriculture company HJ Baker is to expand its Animal Health and Nutrition division with a multi-million dollar facility for amino acid encapsulation in Emporia Kansas.

The 13,000 square foot facility will include offices, warehousing and a processing floor equipped with state of the art equipment designed and built in the USA. Production is expected to begin in March 2016.

HJ Baker has been pioneering the Animal Health industry using amino acid feed ingredients since the late 1980s.

“The encapsulated amino acid market is growing nationally and globally and with our new Emporia facility we anticipate being able to cater to that growth,” said HJ Baker President and CEO Christopher Smith.

“Kansas has become a leader in the animal healthcare and nutrition sector thanks to the investment and expertise of businesses such as HJ Baker,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “The company’s facility in Emporia will support the continued growth of this important industry.”
