Lighthouse Finance will advise iCell Sustainable Co., a Hong Kong-based single-cell protein technology specialist, to explore capital solutions and pursue business development opportunities.
iCell, which produces protein-rich byproducts for use in aquatic and terrestrial feed products through the conversion of nutrient process waters from the food industry, is targeting approximately $50 million in new financing sources. Proceeds will be used for working capital and investment in joint ventures and water treatment facilities outside of Asia-Pacific and with a focus on Scandinavia, Europe, West Africa, and North and South America. The company will rely on Lighthouse’s extensive international financial and strategic investor industry network for the overall effort.
“We are excited to support iCell’s international ambitions and expand their expertise into aquaculture,” said Howard Tang, managing partner at Lighthouse. “Integrated into traditional or land-based aquaculture systems, iCell’s technology can eliminate wastewater in fish farming creating the most sustainable, environmentally sound solutions in the world.”
iCell provides the aquaculture sector a full cycle solution which purifies water for reuse or disbursement and generates protein-rich byproduct for aqua and terrestrial feeds.
