Headquartered in Morocco and operating on five continents, OCP is the world’s first producer of phosphate-based products for plant and animal nutrition, reaching USD 9.4 billion in 2021.
The company, which works with more than 350 customers across the world, produces a wide range of customized products to enhance soil, increase agricultural yields, and produce animal feeds. The acquisition of 50% stake of GlobalFeed, which operates in the animal nutrition segment, will improve OCP’s growth in this segment.
GlobalFeed has a production capacity of 200,000 tons of phosphate-based products and 30,000 tons of iron sulfate located in Huelva, Spain, which will allow OCP to expand its presence geographically and offer a diversified, customized and innovative product portfolio.
“This acquisition confirms OCP’s objective to diversify its phosphate solutions and become a leading player in the animal nutrition sector, addressing growing demand and expanding its offerings to speciality sustainable and customized products,” said Marouane Ameziane, OCP Group’s managing director for specialty products and solutions.
“This even closer alliance with OCP will accelerate our industrial capabilities and market growth offering sustainable and advanced phosphates to the world’s most demanding nutritionists, as well as better access to our cutting-edge technologies and reliable alternative on the market,” said Javier Martin, GlobalFeed’s CEO.
OCP, which will acquire GlobalFeed from Fertinagro, will take advantage of a large company’s capacity and logistics in over 60 countries worldwide.
