Forberg International AS has developed a mixer without discharge doors, which means that both filling and discharge of the mixer take place through the same valve. In order to discharge, the machine has to rotate 180^o from the filling position and thereafter automatically connect to the product receiving system. The machine can also automatically connect itself to a washing and a drying station with a fully automatic cleaning program. A trend within the animal feed industry is that higher and higher demands are put forward to avoid cross contamination, and this actualises the automatic cleaning of the machines. With this technology Forberg ® has also contributed to a substantial improvement of the working environment.

During the spring/summer 2003, two new mixers were installed at Vitfoss AS in Denmark as main mixers for both mineral feed and standard mash feed. Molasses was added in both applications.

The reasons for choosing Forberg® mixers for these applications were a combination of several positive qualities according to Kim Sejr, the factory manager of Vitfoss AS. It was an easy choice to select Forberg® mixers, because these machines combine the well-known quick and accurate mixing with extreme accuracy in adding minor amounts of liquid as well as more difficult liquids like molasses. In addition, with this type of machine, it is very easy to switch between various feed recipes and to clean the machines after use. You just push the start button for the washing program and have your lunch. During a 30 minutes lunch break, the machine is cleaned and dried and ready to perform again. This is a totally new situation for us, something we have no regrets what so ever in having installed says Mr. Sejr.

Vitfoss AS has also previously used standard Forberg® mixers and know that the extremely high accuracy in the Forberg® mixers enables them to achieve an optimum formulation of the various products, which are to be mixed. High mixing accuracy combined with a gentle mixing action, makes it unnecessary to over formulate the recipes with expensive ingredients such as aromas, in order to secure an even quality of the end products. With Forberg® mixers you are guaranteed an extremely good repetition of the mixing results and deliver the products with a very high quality. Vitfoss knows that when the same recipe is used at a later stage, exactly the same end product will be delivered from the mixer.
