Novus International, Inc., and Solutia, Inc., have successfully completed negotiations for Novus to acquire the Feed Ingredient Business that consists of those products sold under the trade names of SANTOQUIN and AGRADO from Solutia effective January 1, 2004. 

Under the agreement, Novus will own all assets of the business including trademarks, patents, and technology. SANTOQUIN is the most recognized feed preservative in the world. 
 
SANTOQUIN feed preservative was introduced to the market in 1959 after intensive research and development by Monsanto.  Since then, SANTOQUIN has provided customers safe and effective results, and remains the most cost effective preservative for such diverse applications as fishmeal, rendered product (fats and meals), Vitamin A and complete animal feeds.
 
AGRADO is a feed preservative with patented applications in dairy, cattle and swine.  In dairy and beef cattle, the addition of Agrado has improved performance, primarily feed efficiency, over standard diets.
 
Novus was founded in 1991 and has been the exclusive world wide distributor of SANTOQUIN.  This new agreement positions Novus as the world's largest supplier of ethoxyquin and enables Novus to continue its strong marketing, sales and technical support to ethoxyquin customers throughout the world.  
 
SANTOQUIN is being added to a broad portfolio of Novus products that service the animal agriculture industry.  This portfolio includes ALIMET feed supplement (liquid methionine source), OASIS hatchling supplement, ADVENT coccidial vaccine, IDEA (Immobilized Digestive Enzyme Assay) and QUINGUARDTM L liquid and M6S dry feed preservatives.
