Rovithai Ltd. has invested more than 200 million baht to build what it claims will be the most modern pre-mix factory in Asia. When it comes on stream later this year, the plant, to be located in Chon Buri province, will be able to produce vitamin pre-mixes to meet 70% of Thailand's demand as well as existing export markets in Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia. The company also plans to add India to the list.

Roche recently announced the signing of an agreement to transfer the vitamin business to DSM, so in this respect, Roche will cease involvement in the vitamins business once the transaction is complete, following regulatory approval. However, Robert Redman, General Manager Rovithai Ltd., told Aquafeed.com that the vitamins business currently in operation under Roche was a dynamic and viable business and that it was in the best interests of everyone, in particular Rovithai's customers, that the business continued to grow and invest in its future.

"The new plant in Thailand is an investment in both the future of our business in Thailand and in the future of the industry in Thailand. Our customer in Thailand cover all the intensive livestock industries and of course aquaculture is an important component for the industry here and for Rovithai", he said.
"The plant will use the latest technology to ensure the highest quality and traceability in support of both domestic and export production", he emphasized.
