SARVAL Chile took over the business activities of Comercial Bahía SpA. The two companies are now joining forces after collaborating closely in the past.
The Chilean company, Bahía, is focused on the intermediation, trading, preparation and commercialization of meals and premixes of marine origin for the animal feed industry. Their main customers are aquafeed producers, especially in the shrimp and salmon industries.
SARVAL is part of the SARIA Group and an international producer of ingredients for animal feed and pet food. With activities in countries around the globe, SARVAL supplies animal feed and pet food companies with high-quality fats and proteins made from animal by-products that are mainly sourced by the meat industry. In 2018, SARVAL entered the Latin American market with office and warehouse facilities in San Antonio and Coronel, Chile. The main activity of the Chilean office is the storage and distribution of animal-derived fats and proteins for aquafeed.
Sarval Chile's operations are strengthened with this partnership due to the geographical footprint of Bahía in the central and central-south of Chile and its strong focus on specialized products.
“SARVAL’s international network and their wide range of animal proteins are a perfect complement to our product and service portfolio,” said Bahía founder, Juan Pablo Hinrichsen, who will stay on as technical sales manager. It will be one of his main tasks to progress SARVAL Chile’s activities in the area of feed products for aquaculture.
SARVAL Group’s sales manager, Matthias Adam, also stressed the value of know-how. “The long-lasting existence of Bahía in the market, as well as their deep knowledge on the maritime feed sector, allow SARVAL Group to increase its footprint in Latin America. More importantly, customers are now able to choose from a broader range of high-quality feed components,” said Adam.
