Carl-Erik Arnesen is the new CEO of STIM. Jim-Roger Nordly passes the baton to a veteran in the Norwegian aquaculture industry.

Arnesen has been working in the Nordly Group since 2019, most recently as CEO of feed producer Polarfeed. He will now be responsible for leading STIM and all its business areas, which include vaccine and drug distribution, fish health services, environmental surveys, consulting, research, and development. At the same time, he will retain his connection to Polarfeed through his position as chairman of the board.

“Carl-Erik has a unique breadth of experience and expertise, he has enormous work capacity, and knows the company well. When it became clear that this was a challenge he wanted to take on, I had no doubt about who should become the new CEO of STIM. It is also reassuring to know that we understand each other and work well together,” says Jim-Roger Nordly.

Carl-Erik Arnesen started at Mowi in 1982 and has been involved in farming in Norway, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and Iceland. His career includes research, production, economics, sales, export, and management. In addition to salmon and trout, he has also worked with halibut, seabass, turbot, scallops, and mussels. He has been employed in the Fisheries Section at DNB and was CEO of Firda Seafood Group for 16 years followed by two years as sales and marketing director at Alsaker Fjordbruk. Before joining the Nordly Group in 2019, he was CEO of Hav Line Group.

Arnesen is now taking over a company that is heading towards an all-time high in revenue.

“There is a lot being done right at STIM, and the company has begun to reap the benefits of several successful development projects. The expertise that resides in this company is unique in a Norwegian context, and it is primarily this that we will build on in the years to come. The ability to see the whole picture and work cross-functionally to create added value for customers is STIM’s foremost quality,” said Arnesen.
