The 3-year program titled “Accelerating aquaculture development in Ghana through sustainable Nile Tilapia seed production and dissemination,” TiSeed, was launched and will address issues related with tilapia seed and improve productivity and profitability of tilapia cage and pond farming in Ghana. Key industry players as Aller Aqua Feed Ghana Ltd. will also participate on this project.

Cycle Farms, a French biotechnology company, has opened its first insect meal facility in Ghana. The company will also produce feed for tilapia farming using its own insect meal.

BioMar partnered with Agro World Group, a local distributor of BioMar based in Cameroon, to launch the first commercial scale cage fish farm in Congo. Cargill and ADM have formally launched SoyVenTM, their new joint venture to provide soybean meal and oil for customers in Egypt. SoyVen owns and operates the National Vegetable Oil Company soy crush facility in Borg Al-Arab. The plant’s daily crush capacity has been doubled to 6,000 metric tons in order to meet increasing Egyptian demand for higher-protein soybean meal and for oil, reducing the need for imports.

Through this acquisition, Neovia is gaining a foothold in a promising market in which the company wants to draw on Hi Nutrients’ premix market position to develop and roll out its international premix brand Wisium’s portfolio of products and services.
