Egypt is the 8th largest aquaculture producing country and the 3rd largest in terms of tilapia. Aquaculture seems set for a continuous production expansion and Aller Aqua supports this increase by supplying affordable high-quality feed targeted at specific fish species. The company has seven factories, one of which is based in Egypt. The Egyptian factory was bought in 2011 and has expanded the production facilities twice to follow the demand in the market.

The company has developed some specific products for tilapia such as Til-Pro and is available all over Africa. The company stated that many farmers have already experienced great success with Aller Til-Pro, and it is hoped that even more farmers will reap the benefits.

Dr Khattaby, Technical Support Manager at Aller Aqua Egypt, said that “Til-Pro is a very efficient feed for growing tilapia. Tilapia is extremely important in Egypt to ensure healthy protein-rich food for the population. You can produce tilapia with standard feeds, but to optimize fish health and increase production, you need a specialized feed like this one. Each raw material has been carefully considered to make the most of every bite of feed that the tilapia eats. We all want maximum output from minimum input, and Til-Pro helps deliver that.”
In Egypt, Aller Aqua hosts seminars to help fish farmers to optimize their aquaculture production. The seminars are popular and provide good information on relevant topics within aquaculture.

As recognition of the company’s effort for the development of tilapia culture, Aller Aqua was awarded for the best fish feed product in the Middle East for their Tilapia Anti-Stress feed at the 2017 AquaMe exhibition. The company has also decided to sponsor World Aquaculture Society’s African Chapter as founding gold sponsor. “It is great to be in a growing industry, but at the same time we cannot rest on our laurels,” explained Hussien Mansour, CEO of Aller Aqua Egypt. “The market expansion we are seeing in Egypt requires us to continue improving our products and our contribution to aquaculture. I feel that the Africa Chapter will really help lift aquaculture production in Africa.”
