BioMar developed Blue IMPACT™, a feed concept that minimizes the environmental impact of aquaculture. The first feed in the series addresses the challenges faced by cage farming in the Baltic Sea area by reducing total phosphorus in the feed.
Blue IMPACT™ Aqua is the first range of feeds developed under this concept of ocean and environmental stewardship. The new range of feeds enables the farmer to address the challenges facing our oceans, such as overfishing, biodiversity loss and ocean acidification and coastal eutrophication while providing healthy and nutritious food for generations to come.
Blue IMPACT™ Aqua is focused on the challenges facing cage farming in the Baltic Sea area. Developed in close cooperation with fish farmers who share BioMar’s dedication to sustainable aquaculture development, it is now available to minimize the environmental footprint of fish farming activity by reducing phosphorus emissions. Blue IMPACT™ Aqua not only targets reducing total phosphorus in the feed by enabling better utilization of the phosphorus available in the feed but also increased fish production with the same phosphorus discharge.

Blue IMPACT™ Aqua feeds have been developed in close cooperation between BioMar and farming companies Heimon Kala Oy (Finland), Redstorm OÜ (Estonia) and Överumans Fisk Ab (Sweden), led by Margus Rebane.
