C.Vale, one of the largest Brazilian cooperatives, will build a new soy plant in Pallottine, Brazil. The new soy facility will have the capacity to process 2,500 tons of soybeans per day, with the possibility of expanding it to up to 3,000 tons per day.

Alfredo Lang, C.Vale president, revealed that the company will invest BRL552 million ($98 million) in the new facility throughout eight years. In the first stage, the soy plant will produce soybean meal for the production of animal feed. The construction of the soybean crushing plant should start in 2021 and be completed in 2023. “It is an old dream of our associates that we are realizing. We will start with the manufacturing of soy meal and oil, and then we will expand the range with other products,” Lang said.

A major producer of grains, C.Vale alone accounts for 2.16% of all soy production in Brazil and is also a major producer of corn. With abundant raw material for the production of feed, C.Vale is a specialist in poultry farming. In 2017, the cooperative started the production of tilapia and currently produces 100,000 tilapia per day and also manufactures feed for cattle and pigs.
