Nicovita, a brand of Vitapro, opened a state-of-the-art facility in Ecuador aiming for sustainable and efficient growth in the country and supporting the future of the industry.
“In the toughest times, we must invest even more. Our vision is clear: strengthening our presence and capacity in Ecuador is a solid step to keep driving the transformation and long-term sustainability of the sector," stated Fabricio Vargas, CEO of Vitapro.
Nicovita's new facility, equipped with cutting-edge technology and high levels of digitalization, ranks among the most advanced shrimp feed manufacturing plants. The integration of artificial intelligence enables the development of highly precise, flexible, and customized nutritional diets to meet the diverse needs of varying farming conditions. This technological versatility enhances Nicovita's ability to swiftly respond to the evolving demands of the shrimp production market, ensuring consistent production adapted to the specific conditions of each region.
The new plant joins Vitapro's network of facilities in Ecuador, Peru, Honduras, and Chile, along with the Aquaculture Experimental Centers (CEAs) across the region. This diversified infrastructure allows Nicovita to stay at the forefront of product innovation, new ingredient development, and adopting sustainable practices.
The launch of this plant was attended by shareholders, representatives from the National Chamber of Aquaculture, senior executives from Alicorp, and Vitapro corporate leaders. The occasion also marked Vitapro's decision to relocate its corporate headquarters to Ecuador, with its leadership team, led by Fabricio Vargas, now based in the country. Vargas, who has over 15 years of industry experience, is guiding the company with a focus on strategic consolidation and agile decision-making to ensure growth and responsiveness to the local market.
“With this investment in infrastructure, technology, and human talent, Nicovita reaffirms its role as a vital partner for Ecuadorian shrimp producers, dedicated to developing efficient, customized nutritional solutions that support the sustainable growth of its clients, who remain at the heart of all decisions. This strengthening of production and service capabilities reflects Vitapro's commitment to meeting the evolving challenges of the shrimp industry, actively contributing to Ecuador’s sustainability and global market leadership,” the company said.
