A new Peruvian project aims for the development of value-added products to be used in aquafeed from a soluble fish concentrate. The CITEacuícola UPCH, Pesquera Diamante and Acuacultura Integrada del Perú (ATISA) are some of the partners of the project.

The new study will develop new products using soluble fish concentrate, which has shown, in previous preliminary experiences, immunostimulant and growth properties in poultry, shrimp and other species. Soluble fish concentrate is a secondary product obtained by Pesquera Diamante from the production of fishmeal.

The objective of the study is to evaluate the suitability and positive effects of the soluble fish concentrate on the production and immune response of poultry and shrimp, in order to improve farming productivity and reduce the use of  high-cost, imported immunostimulant products used in the aquaculture and poultry industry in Perú.
