Vitapro has introduced a series of logistical improvements to strengthen its service offerings by enhancing the traceability of the shrimp feed supply chain, driven by a culture where the customer and product are at the center of its decisions.

These innovations were implemented at the Nicovita plant in Milagro. This transformation in the value chain is the result of a projected USD 2 million investment, which in its first phase, incorporated inventory management software that, combined with an optimized racking system, achieves better results with fewer resources.

The company has invested in its most valuable asset: its people, through specialized training in process improvement. A world-class distribution center has also been designed, incorporating new technologies such as inventory management software and racking systems to optimize storage capacity. With these actions, the company strengthens its knowledge and skills base, ensuring the continuity of quality standards in customer service and exceptional operational performance.

Additionally, the company plans to take the first steps toward green logistics by reducing CO2 emissions by 30% through the transition from fuel-powered forklifts to electric ones. With this innovation, Vitapro positions itself at the forefront of the sector, offering its clients solutions that aim to support the industry's growth and sustainability in the long term, while setting new standards for efficiency and service.

“With these innovations, Vitapro not only enhances the efficiency of its operations but also raises the service standard across the entire aquaculture industry,” said Diego Viera, logistics manager for Ecuador and Peru. “We are setting a new precedent for customer service and environmental responsibility while paving the way for traceability in a sustainably growing industry.”

In addition to advancing sustainability, these improvements have a direct impact on customer service. With advanced storage systems and agile, flexible dispatch strategies, Vitapro, through Nicovita, ensures traceability with precise and punctual last-mile distribution, improving the preservation and quality of products delivered to its customers.
