Wenger Manufacturing Schedules Aquatic Feed Technology Seminar

Special three-day Aquatic Feed Processing Technology Seminar slated for March - few places remaining
February 16, 2005

As part of a continued effort to share knowledge and experience with customers, Wenger Manufacturing, Inc., has scheduled a special three-day Aquatic Feed Processing Technology Seminar for March 15-17, 2005. Open to all plant management and operations personnel involved in the aquatic feed industry, the conference will be held at the Wenger Technical Center in Sabetha, Kan. Seating is limited to 35 attendees, however, so reserve now.

“This is an excellent opportunity for aquatic feeds personnel to learn about the latest in extrusion and drying technology,” says Brian Plattner, manager of the Wenger Technical Center. “Participants will not only gain knowledge from the classroom sessions, but they’ll have a chance to participate in hands-on training in the laboratory.”

According to Plattner, the hands-on portion of the seminar will include sessions on extruder setup, knife sharpening and alignment and laboratory procedures, as well as extrusion trials. In addition, participants in the Aquatic Feed Processing Technology program will receive classroom training on:

• Raw material properties and preparation
• Density management and control
• Extrusion processing technology
• Extrusion die and knife technology
• Drying theory and fundamentals
• Atmospheric and vacuum enrobing
• Micro aquatic feeds
• Recent advances in extrusion and drying technology
• Maintenance and troubleshooting procedures

“The schedule also includes evening socials and dinners, which allow participants to interact with their colleagues in the industry, as well as with Wenger personnel,” Plattner adds. “Attendees will also have an opportunity to tour the Wenger manufacturing facility during their stay.”

The cost for the three-day program is $1,200 per person, which includes the course notes, morning and afternoon breaks, daily lunch and two evening meals. Attendees are required to make their own hotel reservations and travel arrangements. For more information, contact Brian Plattner: brianp@wenger.com or call 785-284-2133.
