Cargill Ecuador renewed its Best Practices in Aquaculture (BAP) certification. BAP certification is one of the most important in the shrimp industry and is focused on ensuring high standards of responsible sourcing and feed safety, which are maintained throughout the shrimp value chain. Through this certification, Cargill’s feed mill in Durán-Tambo, Ecuador reaffirms its highest quality standards throughout its balanced feed production chain.

This is the second BAP certification for the facility that has been operating in Ecuador for two years and has been certified by BAP since the beginning of its operation.

“This certification opens up new possibilities in the market and generates trust in certified customers under this regulation. Achieving it shows the commitment and work of the entire team,” said Angel Gómez, managing director CQN LN of Cargill.

Cargill aims to feed the world safely, responsibly and sustainably. Throughout the past few decades, the company has remained true to the founder's vision: help farmers prosper, connect markets and offer consumers quality products by encouraging them to find the best way to do it every day so that the company can feed the world in a sustainable way.

“Under this vision, and with the update of this certification, Cargill reaffirms and guarantees its commitment to the country, demonstrating that it is a provider of excellence by meeting the demands and standards of international regulations that guarantee the quality, safety, traceability and sustainability of its products,” the company said.
