Construction works on the $6.5M government and industry-funded Experimental Aquaculture Facility (EAF) at Taroona, which is managed by the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), are well underway. The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is developing a Feed Standard for which aquafeed mills can be certified. Within this project, ASC is developing a standard that sets requirements for sourcing of responsibly produced ingredients for aquafeed. This is a multi-stakeholder project, with over 50 people involved in several committees. The expected release date is Q1-2016. Currently the initial draft is open for public feedback.
