NOAA Fisheries announced the appointment of Michael Rubino as the agency’s new Senior Advisor for Seafood Strategy. He will lead the development of markets for U.S. fisheries products and facilitate new and expanded domestic aquaculture production.

A team of Italian researchers studied the effects of substitution of fishmeal with insect meal in the diet of rainbow trout. They have found an increasing richness and diversity in beneficial bacteria.
